ROADWORKS IN STANDISH - UPDATE

At present United Utilities are renewing all the water mains within the village thus causing some traffic congestion. We are now in Week 12 of the roadworks and can advise that the traffic problems are not too bad. The High Street and Preston Road appear almost complete with School Lane and Market Street being affected. There are many routes into the village which can bypass the main road. Pepper Lane from the motorway side of the village and Rectory Lane from the Bolton side are the best routes to use. Please telephone either the shoe shop or dress shop when we will be happy to explain the routes in order to miss the major congestion. Print off the map on our location page and this should help you navigate around the village. We recommend the best time to travel is between 10 am and 3 pm when traffic is at its lightest.

We are also offering the opportunity to shop in the evening between 7 pm and 10 pm, by prior arrangement. Please ring for details.
